The Queen Anne County Council of Homemakers Spring Luncheon was called to order at 10:20 am by Past President Kelly Somers. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemakers Creed. We were welcomed by Barbara Hanifee of the Sudlersville Homemakers Club, our host club. Past Council Presidents were recognized.

The minutes were read. Barbara Hanifee moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded a motion to approve the Minutes. Motion passed.
The Treasurer’s Report showed a balance of (Total on file) in the checking account and (Total on file) in the CD’s. The report was accepted and filed for audit.
Health Chair, Barbara Hanifee, told us that Alzheimer’s patients love the robo pets which some nursing homes now have. Also, the best food for combatting many health problems is dark chocolate with white grains also is best.
Home Arts Chair, Mary Ellen Leaverton, reported that the Queen Anne County Fair is 75 years old this year. It will run from August 7 to 12. Phyllis Boone reported that the Fair needs more quilt and sewing entries and judges. elaine Dow reported that all pewter cups are paid for. There is a new canner from Ball. Also, asparagus is now in season and is best now. Also, Fair Winners will be announced on Monday of the Fair.
Scholarship Chair, Annabelle Taylor, announced that the Scholarship winner is Jennifer Kelly.
Elaine Dow reported that the web page is up to date.
The new Vice President is Barbara Hanifee of the Sudlersville Club. She was sworn in by Parlimentarian, Ann Vogt.
The Recommendation Committee, Ethel Boyle, announced the winners. They are Margaret Thomas of Lucretia Kennard, Barbara Hanifee of Sudlersville and Virginia Jones of Templeville.
Dorothy Carpenter of The Family support Center in Sudlersville received 17 baby quilts and afghans.
Door Prizes were distributed.
Madelyn Hollis introduced our guest – the new Life Community UMC Men’s Choir. They performed many songs for us. They were extremely good and entertaining. They were enjoyed by all.
Carol Wilson, President of Sudlersville, gave our Grace. A very tasty luncheon by all.
Mr. Jim Moran, Queen Anne County Commissioner, presented us with a Proclamation celebrating 80 years of Queen Anne County Council of Homemakers existence.
Arlene Warner moved and Virginia Jones seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed. the luncheon was adjourned at 1:20 pm.
