Queen Anne’s County Council of Homemakers September 12, 2017

The Queen Anne County Council of Homemakers September 12, 2017 meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by President Dottie Grier. We held a moment of silence for those people influenced by Hurricane Harvey and Irma. Madelyn Hollis led us in prayer. We recited the Homemakers Creed and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll was taken with the following results:

Total 11

The minutes were read. Madelyn Hollis moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded a motio to accept the minutes. Motion passed.

Treasurer Annabelle Taylor reported balances of (balances on file) in the Checking Accounts and (balances on file) in the C.D. Barbara Hanifee moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Motion passed. The report was accepted and filed for audit.

Health Chair Barbara Hanifer reported that we should make sure that all our vaccinations are current and that our doctor visits are up to date.

Historian Ethel Boyle reported that she is keeping items up-to-date.

Fair Representative Mary Ellen Leaverton reported that New Catergorians in all areas are needed. The new shelves are so nicely done. The teamwork was great.

Web page chaire Elaine Dow reported that the Web Page is up and running.

Publicity Chair Phylis Boone wanted to send a letter of thanks for Fair entries and helpers.

Scholarship Chair Annabelle Taylor told us that this year’s winner is the same person as last year.

Old Business: The Spring Luncheon was greatly enjoyed.

The Fair Chair will be the same as last year.

Treasurer Annabelle Taylor presented the 2018 Budget. Ethel Boyle moved and Phylis Boone seconded a motion to accept the Budget. Motion passed.

Templeville will host the Fall Luncheon. The place, time, menus, and cost be passed on later. The program will concern stroke awareness. Phylis Boone moved and Madelyn Hollis seconded to accept this program. Motion passed. Each club needs to bring 5 auction items.

Dottie Grier would like to visit each club’s meetings.

Mary Ellen Leaverton moved and Barbara Hanifee seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 am.
