Queen Anne’s County Council of Homemakers
September 13, 2016
The September 13, 2016 meeting of the Queen Anne’s county Council of Homemakers was called to order at 10:00 a.m. by president Kelly Somers. Annabelle Taylor led us in prayer. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemakers Creed.
Roll was taken with the following results:

Total 8
The minutes were read and approved. The Treasurer’s Report showed balances or (amount not posted) in the Checking Account and (amount not posted) in the C.D. The C.D. will be rolled over on September 30, 2016. Ann Vogt moved and Dottie Grier seconded the motion to accept the report. Motion passed.
The 2017 Budget was presented and approved.
Health Chair, Barbara Hanifer, reminded all to get flu shots.
Home arts chair, Mary Ellen Leaverton, reported that 261 persons entered items at the Fair. The tables and Chairs were a big hit. Raffles earned $171.00 which paid $150.00 for the Fair booklet ad and expenses with the decorating. Wye Mills Club did the 2016 decorating and Lucretia Kennard will do the 2017 decorating. A Thank you note was received for the “Stitch-in-Time” Award.
Web Page Chair, Elaine Dow reported that the Farmers Market sent remaining foods to the Our Lady of Sorrows food pantry.
Scholars Chair, Annabelle Taylor, reported that Chesapeake College will award the Council Homemakers a silver leaf on their Giving Tree in recognition of the awarding of the scholarship. This year’s recipient is Jennifer Kelly, an active
4-H’er.
The Spring Luncheon Speaker was considered a great presenter. Lucretia Kennard did an outstanding job.
Septem will host the Fall Luncheon. The menu was presented and approved. The speaker will be Dr. Gills, an allergist from Centreville. The price will be &15.00. Each club is requested to bring 5 items for the Tea Cup Raffle. Dottie Grier moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded and motion to change the Fall Luncheon date to November 15 due to Election Day. Motion Passed.
Ann Vogt moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed. the meeting was adjourned at 11.53 a.m.
