The January 17, 2017 meeting of the Queen Anne County Council of Homemakers was called to order at 10:00 am by President Kelly Somers. Madelyn Hollis led us in prayer. We recited the Homemakers Creed and The Pledge of Allegance.

The minutes were read. Phyllis Boone moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded a motion to accept the minutes. Motion passed.
The Treasure’s Report showed balances of (dollar amount on file) in the Checking Account and (dollar amount on file) in the C.D. The report was accepted and filed for audit.
Health Chair Barbara Hanifee reported that biotene is good for dry mouth.
Home Arts Chair Mary Ellen Leaverton, reported that the Fair raffles earned $171.00. Some changes should be made. Annabelle Taylor moved and Phyllis Boone seconded motion to have a I/2 page ad in the Fair Booklet. Motion passed.
Webpage Chair Elaine Dow, reported that the webpage is up and running.
Publicity Chair, Phyllis Boone, reported that a note in the newspaper told where to go for the webpage. Hopefully the County Commissioners will issue a Proclamation celebrating our 80th Anniversary.
Scholarship Chair, Annabelle Taylor, went to the Scholarship Luncheon at Chesapeake College.
The Fall Luncheon speaker, Dr. Gels went from table to table. He talked to the ladies and answered their questions. This was extremely well-liked. The food was great, but there was too much. It was decided that we will have two luncheons a year. A motion to continue was made by Phyllis Boone and seconded by Madelyn Hollis. Motion passed. Each club will decide the time and the type of meal.
Dottie Grier was installed as President.
The Spring Luncheon will be hosted by Sudlersville Club.
A Nomination Committee was named. Chair is Arlene Warner with Phyllis Boone and Elaine Dow as members.
A Recognition Committee was named. Chair is Ethel Boyle and Kelly Somers and Mary Ellen Leaverton are members.
Mary Ellen Leaverton moved and Kelly Somers seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 12:12 pm to a great covered dish luncheon.
