Queen Anne’s County Council of Homemakers September 11, 2018

The September 11, 2018 meeting of the Queen Anne’s County Council of Homemakers was called to order by President Dottie Grier at 9:56 a.m. Madeline Hollis led us in prayer. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemakers Creed.

Roll was taken with the following results:

The Minutes were read and corrected. The Treasurer’s Report showed balances of (Total on file) in the Checking Account and(Total on file) in the C.D. The report was accepted.

County Fair- Mary Ellen Leaverton reported that the Pillow Making was a huge success. The afghan realized $168.00. The Fair Booklet ad cost $75.00. Mary Ellen Leaverton moved and Elaine Dow seconded for each club to donate material and fiberfill. Motion passed. Elaine Dow moved and Mary Ellen Leaverton seconded a motion to reimburse Templeville for material and fiberfill brought to the Fair so that the Pillow Making could continue. It was requested that the material and fiberfill be brought to the Fall Luncheon. Next year we will continue to have pewter cups.

Webpage Chair Elaine Dow reported that the page is up to date. There has been weather problems at the Farmers Market. Please remember to buy local food items.

OLD BUSINESS

The Spring Luncheon was evaluated. The room was too small, the doors were not opened in a comforted time, there was no “Coffee, tea bar,” and there were not enough servers, The food was very good and the presenters were very good with the presentation very good.

The Fair was very good this year.

NEW BUSINESS

Lucretia Kennard will host our Fall Luncheon. If the Heritage Building is completed and opened, it will be held there.

Each Club may nominate one member for the Recognition Award.

Annabelle Taylor presented the 2019 Budget. Annabelle Taylor moved and Ann Vogt seconded a motion to accept the budget. Motion passed. It was moved by Annabelle Taylor and seconded by Rosanne Hollis to renew the C.D. when it comes due. Motion passed.

Annabelle Taylor moved and Elaine Dow seconded a motion to give thank you gifts to the office secretaries for their help during the year.

Mary Ellen Leaverton moved and Rosanne Hollis seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 11:41 a.m.
